RAMASESHIER HIGH SECONDARY SCHOOL BUILDING RENOVATION

An Appeal
The Ramaseshier Educational Trust (Regd) established in January 2013, is a non-profit organization with a service motive. The Registered Office of the Trust is at 54/28, Dr Radhakrishnan Street, Pattamadai-627453, Tirunelveli District, Tamilnadu.

The governing body of the Trust has eight prominent personalities who, along with several other great gentlemen, have been meeting the educational needs of the more-than-a-century old  Ramaseshier Higher Secondary School, Pattamadai. The school is unique in the quality of the alumni moulded by it, who have adorned or still adorning posts of distinction in various walks of life. The 108th Birth Anniversary of Mr. Ramaseshier, who, with his scholarship, leadership, opulence and purity in private life, built up the Institution, was celebrated in a fitting manner in 1977 with Mr. Ramasubrahmaneya Raja, Chairman and Managing Director of the RAMCO Group of companies, as President. The Centenary Celebrations of the school took place in a nice manner in 1994, when Dr. K. Venkatasubramanian, former Director of Public Instruction, Madras, and former Vice-Chancellor, Central University, Pondicherry, presided over the function. The Pattamadai boy, wherever he is found-and he is found all over this vast land and in several parts of the globe is far from being inconspicuous.

The constitution of the Board of Trustees of the Trust is as follows:
  1. Mr. N. Sundarasubramanian, Secretary & Correspondent of the School, Pattamadai – Managing Trustee
  2. Mr. P A Seshan, ‘Leo’ of the HINDU and President of the School Board, Chennai
  3. Mr. P N Ramaseshan, Chennai
  4. Dr M B Athreya, New Delhi
  5. Mr. P S Ananthanarayanan, Chennai
  6. Mr. P S Krishnamurthy, Chennai
  7. Mr. R B Athreya, Chennai
  8. Mr. V Parthasarathy, Pattamadai

The object of the Trust is to construct the school buildings and compound walls for the school playgrounds and to provide furniture and laboratory equipments for the school. The Trust thereby works for the advancement of the education of the young, aspiring student community.

As a first step, the Trust proposes to undertake the project of constructing a permanent concrete structure, which can accommodate five spacious classrooms on the ground floor and five on the first floor by replacing the lengthy, tiled southern shed in the school. The shed, constructed many decades ago, is of late weakening day by day and has to be replaced. The construction of the entire building is estimated to cost about sixty seven lakhs. The Old Students, well-wishers and philanthropists are requested to be kind enough to donate in a big way to the noble cause and make the proposed infrastructure project a success. The donors can avail 80G income-tax exemption benefits for their contributions. Donors residing abroad are requested to send their contributions in Indian Rupees. The Cheques / Drafts, payable at Indian Bank, Cheranmahadevi, are to be drawn in favour of The Ramaseshier Educational Trust and sent to the following address:
